2019-2020 State ODP Pool Tryouts
ODP Try-Outs Registration Process

Players wishing to try-out for a 2019-2020 State ODP Pool must begin here.

Try-Outs for State ODP pools are by DOC Recommendation for new players, Returning State, Regional and National ODP Players.  All players wishing to play ODP at this level must be identified and recommended to attend try-outs by the Director of Coaching, from their club or league (or Club coach if no DoC), EXCEPT players on the 2018-2019 State, Region or National pools. These players are not required to provide a DOC Recommendation signature.  2018-2019 State pool player lists are posted on the Cal North website for verification.

Player Eligibility:

Any Player of eligible age that demonstrates the ability to perform at the highest level in the sport of youth soccer and has been recommended by their Director of Coaching (or club coach as stated above) from their local league/club, or a player who participated on the 2018-2019 State ODP Pool, currently on the US Youth Soccer *Regional Pool, or US Soccer Youth National Team pool. Players on the current Regional and National Youth pools will need to be confirmed, prior to the try-outs. (*Regional Pool players would be those on the current 2018-2019 pools, not those who have been invited to 2019 ODP Camp, trying out for the 2019-2020 Pools).

Eligible Age/Gender:

Boys and Girls born in 2008 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004 and 2003 ODP Birth year is a “Calendar year”. Players must have been born any time during one of the years listed. (Example: January 1-December 31). Players must try-out for the pool of their birth year.

All players must pre-register online, pay the try-out fee and attend at least ONE try-out Session (including State and Regional players) to be rostered to the final pool.

Try-Out Format:

There are total of (12) hours of try-outs, (3 different days, 2- sessions per day, each session is 2 hours long). Attending every try-out session is NOT Mandatory, however if you fail to attend one of the first sessions and then you get ill, injured or have a club team conflict later in the try-out process, you may be eliminating yourself by virtue of not participating earlier on.  We highly recommend you attend the first session possible in order to avoid any scheduling conflicts later in the process.

Registration/Medical Treatment Release: (REQUIRED FOR CHECK IN)

Every player will need to bring their Registration/Medical Treatment Release to check in.  Once you have completed your registration you will be prompted to download and print your form. If you are a player that requires a recommendation, the DoC/Coach signature section is on this form.

Concussion Policy

Any player that has been suspected of or being treated for a concussion must follow the Cal North Concussion Protocol Policy set forth by the Cal North BOD. No exceptions.

Refund Policy

Because ODP Try-Outs require a recommendation, it is highly recommended that you check with your coach or club Director PRIOR to signing up and confirming that they will sign your form. There is no refund for those who register and cannot gain the required signatures to try-out. Insure you will be recommended, BEFORE you register.

There is No refund (for any reason) after June 21st.  If you registered prior to June 21st, refunds will only be issued if you are injured and will not be able to participate for the duration of the try-out process (through August 11).   Refunds for injuries will require a Medical letter from the treating Physician, and must state that the player is unable to play soccer due to the treating injury through August 11. Please submit this letter to the Cal North office, prior to 6/21. Refunds for injuries (or any portion of the try-out fee) will not be issued if a player has already participated in a try-out session.

Again, we strongly encourage players to get to the first set of try-outs in order to avoid conflicts, future injury or loss of try-out fees. If you have any questions regarding the refund policy, please contact the Cal North office, prior to registering.  There will be No Refunds, for any reason after June 21st, registration will close on September 1st.
